A VARIETY OF PROGRAMMES
Golf is a wonderful sport played on grass. Golf has the advantage of being suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Each player plays with their own ball, so different levels of skill or ability do not affect the teammates to the same extent as in sports where all participants are involved through the same ball.
The Golf Academy programme combines a variety of programmes, from demo days for complete beginners to additional training for players who want to take their game to the next level:

TRY GOLF
The Brdo Golf Course is especially suitable for beginners, children, and seniors, as the distances between the holes are shorter and do not require a lot of golf-specific endurance.
Are you interested in golf but are not sure how to start or if it is, in fact, the sport for you? What does golf look like? What kind of clubs do we use?
In a short introduction, our professional coaches will show you the basics of putting and you will then continue on your own.
You will learn the basics in two hours, all while enjoying the idyllic scenery of Brdo Park.

Recommended equipment:
- attire: polo shirt, long or capri pants,
- shoes: rubber sole sports shoes,
- Golf equipment: we provide the equipment – free of charge as part of the golf demonstration.
BEGINNERS’ COURSE
To play golf, it is necessary to pass a handicap test, which provides the necessary knowledge and skills to better enjoy the course and ensure the safety of yourself and others.
All of this is taught in the Beginners’ Course. To improve the quality of the course, we run it in groups with fewer participants (maximum 4). The course is led by a qualified and experienced PGA golf instructor.

- HCP test.
The course will teach you the basics of holding the club, body positioning and movement. You will learn the different types of strokes that are commonly used on the golf course (long strokes, short strokes over obstacles, patting). Part of the course will also be devoted to the basic rules (what to do if I lose the ball, etc.) and how to move around the golf course.
At the end of the course, you will gain basic knowledge, providing a foundation for attending a golf rules lecture (online, free of charge). After joining a golf club, you will then meet the criteria for the handicap test, which is required for playing abroad and participating in social tournaments. By joining the club, you also receive a membership card, and the Golf Association of Slovenia (GZS) will manage your handicap index as part of this.
Terms you may not be familiar with: patting, HCP test, HCP index, golf club, social tournament …
The course includes all the equipment you will need (rental of the clubs, balls, 1 time play) and a PGA golf teacher. Golf shoes are not necessary at the beginning.
The course is taught in five units, 2 hours each.

BEGINNERS’ COURSE FOR FAMILIES
Why not take up golf together as a family? We organise a family course with a modified programme for children (from 8 years). Rental of clubs for adults and children is included.

ADVANCED COURSE
After the beginner course and a couple of independent practice sessions, it’s time for the advanced course. There is still a lot of untapped knowledge, as golf is constantly surprising. We will learn to perfect the basic strokes, so we will look in more detail at strokes with a wooden club, sand strokes, high strokes with hurdles and some additional aspects of the rules and tactics on the court.
Duration and number of participants by arrangement.
Recommended equipment for the Advanced Course:
- suitable golf attire (polo shirt, casual clothes),
- footwear: sports shoes with a profile or golf shoes (optional),
- Your own golf clubs are not necessary, but they are recommended (you are already used to them or will get used to them more); otherwise, we will provide them free of charge.

Weekly Practice with a Professional Golf Instructor

CHILDREN’S SPORTS DAY
Brdo often organises sports days for primary and secondary school children. The programme includes a tour of the course, equipment and equipment rental, learning all the elements of golf and lots of fun. Also possible for schools with several departments.
