The second Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union has successfully concluded.
The main venue for the summits was the Brdo Congress Centre, which was built for the first Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU. It is one of the most modern centres used for organising protocol, business and other events in Slovenia. It is located on the Brdo Estate, along with the Renaissance Brdo Castle, where noble families have lived since the 16th century. Today, it is the central protocol facility of the Republic of Slovenia.
The Council of the European Union consists of 27 governments of the member states of the European Union. Every six months, the Presidency of the Council rotates among the governments of the EU member states. On 1 July 2021, Slovenia took over the presidency of this important European legislative body for the second time.
